Life and Learning Youth Center (LLYC) is a 501(c)(3) non-religious nonprofit based in the South Everett area, dedicated to supporting youth, their families, and elders through high-quality learning and enrichment opportunities. We exist to close opportunity gaps and create spaces where young people are challenged, supported, and seen.
Our Mission
LLYC’s mission is to provide safe, engaging, and academically rich programs that help youth build strong minds, confident identities, and practical life skills. We focus especially on students who may not otherwise have access to advanced learning experiences, ensuring cost is never the primary barrier to growth.
What We Do
LLYC offers a growing portfolio of programs designed to support whole-child development:
- Summer Enrichment Program that pushes learning well beyond typical grade-level expectations, blending rigorous academics with hands-on projects, field trips, and fun.
- Intergenerational Computer Lab where youth and elders learn side-by-side, building digital skills, confidence, and meaningful connections across generations.
- Youth life skills and entrepreneurship experiences that introduce financial literacy, leadership, problem-solving, and business basics to prepare young people for real-world success.
Our goal is to create learning environments where students don’t just “catch up” but truly excel—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our Vision for the Future
LLYC is actively planning for a permanent, purpose-built facility in South Everett that will serve as a hub for youth, families, and the wider community. Our long-term vision includes a gym, clinic rooms, computer lab, commercial kitchen, classrooms, and theater/presentation space, all under one roof. We are pursuing at least $10 million in philanthropic and grant funding to make this community campus a reality.
Our Leadership and Community
LLYC is led by a working board of community members, educators, and caregivers committed to youth-centered design and shared leadership. Through committees like our Program Planning and Youth Engagement Committee and the Summer Enrichment Program Subcommittee, we actively involve youth, families, and partners in shaping programs that reflect real needs and local voices.
